A holiday gift that POPS

11/25/2015 (La Porte, IN) - An evening out at the community's most cherished holiday event would make a great pre-holiday gift, and it just so happens tickets are on sale right now. The 21st Annual Holiday at the Pops takes place before all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, at 7 p.m., Dec. 12 at the La Porte Civic Auditorium, 1001 Ridge Street, La Porte. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Balcony tickets are available by visiting holidaypopslaporte.org or by calling 219-326-2471. The event usually sells out, so the community is encouraged to buy now. Ticket are $10 for adults, $5 for children, and those who buy 10 tickets receive the 11th for free.
Conducted by Chuck Steck with guest conductor Pete Collins, and accompanied by the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra, this year's program showcases the extraordinary local talent of singers and musicians who transform the Civic Auditorium into a holiday wonderland. Special guest artists include the vocal ensemble Cripple Creek; trumpet trio Chuck Steck, Matt Burden and Dr. John Langford; soprano Jenny Hartson; vocalists Mark and Laura Krentz; instrumentalists Matt Burden & Dr. William Wolf, Jr.; and vocalist Tim King, the most recent past executive director of the symphony appearing in his first Pops concert. Proceeds from the event benefit the La Porte Hospital Foundation VNA Fund and other vital philanthropic healthcare needs.
All those attending the event are invited to bring a children's book or stuffed animal, which will be distributed to children who are patients at the hospital. Delicious snacks will be available for purchase as well, including the famous Spire Farm to Fork BLT (candied bacon, garlic aioli and tomato jam), and various desserts.
